As part of the Famous Entrepreneur Series, Le Moyne College will host a talk by technology evangelist, passionate innovator and Cisco Senior Vice President Carlos Dominguez. The talk, titled "The Internet of Everything and the Road Ahead," will take place on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at 6:30 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium on the Le Moyne campus.
Drawing from his 20 years at Cisco, Dominguez speaks frequently about how technology is changing the rules of business and how to not get left behind. Dominguez addresses many questions about collaboration including what motivates people to collaborate, how to establish rewards for collaborating, how to find the right experts both inside and outside your company, and how to keep people coming together — online and in person. He is a member of the prestigious CDC Foundation which connects the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to innovative ideas and expertise from outside partners. He is also a board member at the Institute of Large Scale Innovation, which is a group of international leaders who use innovation to help solve complex global challenges.
Before his current role, Carlos ran Worldwide Service Provider Operations at Cisco for three years, and previously was vice president for U.S. Service Provider Sales. Under his leadership, Service Provider grew from $500 million to $2.5 billion. Prior to that, he led Cisco’s Enterprise line of business in the northeastern U.S. where he established Cisco in strategic markets such as financial services, media, government and pharmaceuticals.
About the Famous Entrepreneurs Series
Established in 2006, the Famous Entrepreneurs Series (FES) is a business community organization created to fuel the entrepreneurial flame in the greater Syracuse and Central Upstate New York region. Through FES, admired CEOs and management thought leaders join us to share their successes, failures and bold visions in an effort to create inspired discussions within our local community.
The goal of FES is to provide attendees with the opportunity to build relationships – creating a community of collaboration – to enhance the Central New York business environment with economic vibrancy and innovation. Past speakers have included world famous founders and CEOs (such as Chris Hughes of Facebook, Carly Fiorina of Hewlett-Packard, Larry Kramer of Marketwatch.com, Richard Teerlink of Harley-Davidson, Jon Luther of Dunkin Brands, Anne Mulcahy of Xerox and David Barger of Jet Blue) and innovative entrepreneurs and authors (such as Seth Godin, author of Purple Cow and more than a dozen books, C.K. Prahalad, author of "Competing for the Future," Michael Treacy, author of "The Discipline of Market Leaders," Rod Beckstrom, author of "The Starfish and the Spider," and Vijay Govindarajan, author of "Ten Rules for Strategic Innovators.").
