Saab Sensor Systems is a business unit operating within Saab Defense and Security USA LLC. What you will be part of
Saab Defense and Security USA LLC is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual as a Summer Engineering Co-op to work with a team of engineers to provide field installation, technical support and assistance in installing radar equipment at customer facilities.
The candidate’s job role and responsibilities will be assisting and providing technical support to the tech support engineers in the field with the installation radar equipment at the customer facilities. The job will require travel at various locations within the US for approximately three week durations per site.
Your experiences and skills
Enrolled in an accredited degree program working towards a degree with related coursework to co-op assignment
• Completion of Sophomore year or greater
• Minimum G.P.A. of 3.0/4.0
• Engineering student, preferably with a background in Electrical or Mechanical
• Little to no professional experience required
• Flexible to travel
• Basic knowledge and the safe use of standard hand tools
• Ability to apply acquired knowledge from coursework to real-work practice
• Learns and applies company policies and procedures
• Eagerness to enhance learning and expand skill set by taking on wide variety of tasks
• Capability to follow instructions
• Ability to complete assigned tasks with initial direction and guidance

HORIZONS Scholarship encourages national security, defense careers
Through the HORIZONS Scholarship, established in 1988, Women In Defense encourages women to pursue careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States and to provide development opportunities to women already working in national security and defense fields. The scholarship is designed to provide financial assistance to further educational objectives of women who are U.S. citizens either employed or planning careers in defense or national security areas. (This is not law enforcement or criminal justice.) The amount of the awards varies each year.
Fields of Study
Focus of the scholarship is on the following preferred fields of study: security studies, military history, government relations, engineering, computer science, cyber security, physics, mathematics, business (as it relates to national security or defense), law (as it relates to national security or defense), international relations, political science, and economics. Others will be considered if the applicant can successfully demonstrate relevance to a career in the areas of national security or defense.

The range of physics (or physics-related) courses to be taught will vary from middle-school physical science through AP physics. It is also common for physics teachers to lead other science classes (biology or chemistry), or perhaps some math classes. Certification is not required by private schools for many physics jobs.

Requirements: Candidates do not have to be in a teacher-preparation program or major in education to be considered for faculty positions at outstanding independent schools. While a degree in science education is desirable, most middle and upper grade teachers are hired based upon their major—their subject knowledge—and their gifts for working with young people. Candidates should have a minimum GPA of 3.0.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management (FDEM) urges students that the deadline for those considering a 2014 summer internship with the division is quickly approaching.
The FDEM Internship Program provides students with a unique opportunity to apply classroom skills and theory to real life work situations. This hands-on program is designed to strengthen fundamental emergency management concepts and develop the confidence and skills of the next generation to prepare them for future employment opportunities.
As an intern, participants are expected to employ their skills and abilities to contribute to the objectives of their assigned host organization.
