Le Moyne College Dedicates New State-of-the-Art Science Complex
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will dedicate its new state-of-the-art science complex in a “Celebration of Science,” to be held on Thursday, Feb. 16. Science demonstrations will illustrate the interdisciplinary nature of science instruction at Le Moyne while food stations located throughout the building will invite the public to explore every space dedicated to teaching and research in this stunning facility.
The program schedule includes:
4:30 p.m.: Keynote address by George V. Coyne, S.J., McDevitt Chair in Religious Philosophy, Science Lecture Hall
5:45 p.m.: Blessing and Ribbon Cutting, Science Center Atrium, with remarks by Le Moyne President Fred Pestello, Provost Linda LeMura and Green Buildings Chair Rick Fedrizzi, a 1976 Le Moyne graduate.
6:30 p.m.: Cocktail and Hors d’ouevre Reception, Science Demonstrations and Building Tours
Built on-time and under budget, the $20 million building was constructed in just over a year-and-a-half. The College’s physician assistant program will occupy the third floor of the 48,000-square-foot structure, and the classrooms and labs on the basement, first and second floors will support other health service disciplines, as well as biology and physics.
