Featuring authentic Irish instruments, including concertina, harp, whistle, bodhrán and uilleann pipes, the concert will also highlight the various instruments of the chamber orchestra. The orchestra will also accompany the session players, performing an original work arranged and orchestrated by music faculty member Edward Ruchalski.
“This is a fantastic way to kick off St. Patrick’s Day celebrations here in central New York,” says Newton, also director of the College’s music program. “We’re thrilled to have such talented, authentic musicians joining us for this concert. Our students have benefited greatly from exposure to instruments they’ve never heard before.”
