U.S. News & World Reports Recognizes Le Moyne for 22nd Consecutive Year

The 2014 rankings from U.S. News & World Report are out, and once again Le Moyne College has been ranked as one of America’s “Best Colleges” based on its academic quality. This marks the 22nd consecutive year that the College has received this distinction.

In this year’s edition of the popular guidebook, Le Moyne College placed #24 for “Best Colleges” in the North Regional Universities category. Colleges are ranked based on a variety of factors, including peer assessment; graduation and retention rates; faculty resources; student selectivity; financial resources; and alumni giving.

Le Moyne was named #9 in the Regional Universities North “Great Schools at Great Prices” list. The College was also included in the listing of institutions in the Northern Regional Universities category that have high freshmen retention rates; Le Moyne’s freshman retention rate was listed at 84 percent.

The publication designates schools in four major categories – national universities, national liberal arts colleges, regional universities and regional colleges. Le Moyne and other institutions in the regional universities category provide a full range of undergraduate majors and master’s programs, but unlike national universities, offer few, if any, doctoral programs. Information on rankings and methodology may be found here.

Le Moyne was in good company in the rankings, as all 28 Jesuit colleges and universities were in the top tier of their respective categories in the U.S. News rankings, according to the Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities
