News and Notes for Google Apps at Le Moyne

There are many new Google features to explore. You will find a fresh look across Gmail, Google Docs, Spreadsheets and Sites, and we highlight key changes below:

Gmail now allows you to:

• import vCards into google contacts or add contacts as an email attachment
• sign into multiple accounts simultaneously through a mobile device
• include a reference to your mobile device in your email signature
• set a vacation auto-responder from your mobile

Contacts now features:

• A new interface and changes such as contacts default to “Work” field type
• The ability to add contacts from the domain directory to your “My Contacts” list in a single click.
• A way to Manage groups more easily and sort by last name (look under "More actions")
• Custom labels for phone numbers and other fields, automatic saving, structured name fields, more room for notes, and other time-saving steps.

In Google Docs, you'll find:

• Redesign of menus, toolbars, and action buttons
• Comment-only access when sharing is now available for Google Apps domains

Other changes include Google+ and Picasa Web Albums, with photo sharing through Circles, Messenger and Hangouts. On Sites, you can add Blogger and have more control over who can view and edit on a page by page basis.
