Le Moyne College Awarded Grant by John Ben Snow Memorial Trust

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The John Ben Snow Memorial Trust has awarded Le Moyne College a grant in the amount of $50,000 to establish a permanently endowed scholarship that will provide financial assistance to first-generation students from Central New York. Approximately one in four Le Moyne students is a first-generation student.

“This grant further strengthens Le Moyne’s commitment to promoting a more just society, as expressed in our mission statement, by assisting students who have significant financial need,” said Linda LeMura, provost and vice president for academic affairs at Le Moyne.

Le Moyne has a long record of recruiting and supporting academically strong students with demonstrated financial need. Nearly 30% of the College’s annual budget is directed to financial assistance, with 90% of Le Moyne students receiving some form of financial aid.

Founded by Pulaski native and entrepreneur John Ben Snow, the John Ben Snow Memorial Trust, together with the John Ben Snow Foundation, support a variety of educational, cultural, arts, historic preservation and community initiatives across the region and throughout the United States.
