International Recording Artist Marion Meadows to Perform at Le Moyne College

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … On Thursday, Sept. 13, at 7:30 p.m., Le Moyne College will host saxophonist and recording artist Marion Meadows in a concert benefitting the College’s growing music program. The concert will take place in the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts.

Meadows, with nine albums to his credit, will be joined by local jazz musicians including pianist Rick Montalbano and drummer Jimmy Johns. Audience members will be treated to Meadows’ smooth jazz sound, featuring selections from his numerous albums, including 2009’s Secrets, released by Concord Music Group.

Mr. Meadows’ musical training is solidly rooted in jazz, but he also trained in arranging and composition at the Berklee College of Music and the SUNY Purchase School of the Arts. As a result, Meadows has incredible technique to back up his distinctive musical style.

In the early ‘90s, Meadows signed with RCA and released numerous albums including Keep It Right Here, Forbidden Fruit, and Body Rhythm. Though he has performed live with greats including Eartha Kitt and The Temptations, Meadows draws his musical inspiration from the recording studio. “The real magic for me happens in the studio when I put on those headphones and start playing,” says Meadows. “Everything else in my musical life comes out of that moment.”

For a glimpse of Meadows, call (315) 445-4523 for tickets. For $25, audience members will be treated to two sets by Mr. Meadows, a champagne toast and a chance to meet the artist following the performance.
