Diversity Officer at Abercrombie & Fitch to Speak at Le Moyne College

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a talk by Todd Corley ’91 of Abercrombie & Fitch on Monday, March 18, at 4:30 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. His talk is titled “Inclusion Yields Innovation.”

Corley joined Abercrombie & Fitch in 2004 as the company’s first-ever corporate officer in charge of diversity and inclusion. He has shared oversight for the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative and is liaison to the Abercrombie & Fitch board of directors’ CSR committee.

When Corley was hired, non-whites accounted for less than 10 percent of the staff in Abercrombie’s 700 stores. Five years later, that number exceeded 40 percent in 1,000 stores, and now more than 50 percent of in-store employees are people of color, including managers and models.

Corley is a co-founding member of the diversity management concentration, housed in Georgetown University’s School of Continuing Studies, and chairs their Chief Diversity Officer Consortium.

Through his leadership, Abercrombie & Fitch became a founding corporate member of the European Diversity Awards, which recognize the outstanding work of senior leaders who champion and promote equality across Europe. He has been a fixture on “Top 100 Executive” lists, including SAVOY and Uptown magazines. He has also appeared on Ebony magazine’s “30 Leaders Under 30” list and The Network Journal’s “40 Leaders Under 40” listing. In 2012, he was named one of the top five chief diversity officers in the country to follow on Twitter (@corleytodd).

Corley is also a member of the Executive Leadership Council, the premier leadership organization comprised of the most senior African-American corporate executives in Fortune 500 companies.
He holds a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne, a master’s degree from Georgetown University and is a graduate of the inaugural Brand & Reputation management program created by Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth College.
