Le Moyne College Hosts Talk on Islam

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Dr. Ahmed Nezar Kobeisy will speak on “The Messenger of Islam and the Message” at Le Moyne College on Thursday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. in the Panasci Family Chapel. A question-and-answer session will follow the talk.<br /> <br /> Kobeisy serves as the Muslim chaplain at Syracuse University and as director and Imam at the Islamic Center of the Capital District. He is the author of “Counseling American Muslims: Understanding the Faith and Helping the People” and co-founder and section editor of The Journal of Muslim Mental Health. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Islamic studies from Medina University, Saudi Arabia, a master’s degree from Syracuse University in counseling education and a doctorate from Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.<br /> <br /> The talk is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be available following the lecture in the Drescher Community Room. The event is sponsored by the Muslim Student Association at Le Moyne College.</p>
