Le Moyne College to Host Talk by Freud Scholar

<p>SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a talk by Dr. Richard Boothby, department of philosophy, Loyola University of Maryland, on Thursday, April 12, at 5 p.m. in the Reilley Room, 4th floor, Reilly Hall. His talk is titled "Psychoanalyzing Modernity or Mark Foley on the Couch." <br /> <br /> Dr. Boothby is one of the most lucid and powerful interpreters today of the work of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. Among his books (all with Routledge Press) are “Death and Desire, Freud as Philosopher” and, most recently, “Sex on the Couch: What Freud Still has to Teach us About Sex and Gender” (2005). <br /> <br /> This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the department of philosophy, the department of English and the O’Connell Professorship.</p>
