Le Moyne College Holds Screening of "18 in '08"SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a screening of the documentary "18 in '08" on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m. in the Campus Center. The screening is part of the freshman reading project related to voting and being part of the political process. The film is the brainchild of David Burstein, a Pennsylvania student, now 19, who is traveling to all 50 states to show the 35-minute documentary and discuss the film with young people. He will be present at the showing, which is the only time it will be shown in the area.
Following the showing and discussion, a panel will discuss the topic of getting young people to vote. Panel members will be: Kris Balderston, Le Moyne class of 1977 and chief of staff for Sen. Hillary Clinton; Ryan McMahon, Le Moyne class of 2002 and Syracuse city councilman; and Le Moyne Political Science Professor John Freie. Also, Onondaga County Board of Elections Commissioner Ed Ryan will be there to discuss and help students register to vote.
