Le Moyne College Hosts Forum on Religion and Environment
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a forum on religion and the environment on Tuesday, March 17, at 5:30 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium. The forum is titled “How the Older Nations Can Focus Our Nation: Talks on Native American Spirituality and the Environment.”
Frieda Jacques of the Onondaga Nation and Robin Kimmerer of the State University of New York College of Environmental Science and Forestry will explore the way spirituality and environmentalism are tied together in the outlook of many Native Americans.
David Casey, S.J., will also reflect upon the focus the Society of Jesus places on environmental justice.
This event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Rev. Kevin G. O’Connell, S.J., Professorship in the Humanities, the divisions of arts and sciences and management and Sodexo.
The forum is part of Le Moyne’s observance of Focus the Nation. Focus the Nation week at Le Moyne College is dedicated to raising awareness about human impact on the environment and to promoting sound ecological practices.
