Le Moyne College Jazzuits to also present a tribute to The Beatles

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College faculty and students will perform alongside top-tier violinist James Ehnes (April 14) and jazz great John Abercrombie (April 16) at the Palace Theatre, 2384 James Street in Syracuse. These concerts will mark the end of the 2008-2009 performing season for the Le Moyne College music program.

On April 14 at 7:30 p.m., the Le Moyne College Chamber Orchestra, under the direction of Le Moyne’s Artist-in-Residence Andrew Russo, will accompany Mr. Ehnes as he performs Vivaldi’s “Spring” from “The Four Seasons.”  Also featured on the program will be Pulitzer Prize-winner and former Syracuse resident Ernst Bacon’s “Ford’s Theatre,” presented in celebration of Abraham Lincoln’s 200th birthday.

On the second half of the program, audience members will enjoy the smooth sounds of the Le Moyne College Jazzuits, under the direction of Carol Jacobe, as they present two dozen of the Beatles’ most popular hits alongside CNY favorite Nancy Kelly.

On April 16 at 7:30 p.m., join the Le Moyne College Jazz Ensemble and Young Lions of Central New York in an evening spotlighting jazz guitarist John Abercrombie.  Featured on the program will be original compositions by Mr. Abercrombie alongside standards by Duke Ellington and Grammy winner Gordon Goodwin.
