Le Moyne College Hosts Dialogue on "Evolution and Resurrection"

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … As part of Le Moyne’s celebration of the bicentennial of the birth of scientist and author Charles Darwin, Brother Guy Consolmagno, S.J., and the Rev. Jan Lambrecht, S.J., will give a public lecture on Tues., Oct. 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Curtin Special Events Room, located in the Campus Center. Their talk is titled “Evolution and Resurrection.”

Brother Guy Consolmagno, S.J. serves as an astronomer at the Vatican Observatory and is holder of the Lanigan Endowed Chair. The Rev. Jan Lambrecht, S.J. is professor emeritus of New Testament at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (Belgium) and holder of the Mitchell Chair of Christian Wisdom. In their talk, they will discuss the purpose of evolution from the complementary perspectives of science and theology.

The event is free and open to the public. It is sponsored by the Sanzone Center for Catholic Studies and Theological Reflection at Le Moyne.
