Le Moyne Student Awarded National Scholarship
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants has awarded Le Moyne student Timothy Hammond an AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship. He was one of only five students nationwide to receive the award.
Timothy Hammond is majoring in both accounting and economics and minoring in philosophy as part of the combined bachelor’s/master’s 150-hour accounting program at Le Moyne. He has received awards from the dean’s office, Institute of Internal Auditors, Wall Street Journal, American Society of Women Accountants and the New York State Society of CPAs.
Hammond served as president of the Institute of Internal Auditors Student Chapter and the Economics Club as an undergraduate. He is a founding member of the Le Moyne College Brass Ensemble. Hammond served as a tutor for the College’s Academic Support Center and is a member of several honor societies. He is an intern with the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance.
The AICPA/Accountemps Student Scholarship is awarded to accounting, finance or information systems majors with a minimum 3.0 grade point average who demonstrate leadership, academic excellence and future career interests in accounting and business. The AICPA administers the program and Accountemps funds the $2,500 individual scholarships.
