Le Moyne Hosts Talk on Environmental Disease and Death
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will host a talk by Dr. Kristin Shrader-Frechette on Thursday, Sept. 9, at 6:30 p.m. in Grewen Auditorium titled “Stopping Environmental Disease and Death.”
Shrader-Frechette is the O’Neill Family Professor, department of biological sciences and department of philosophy, University of Notre Dame, where she also directs the Center for Environmental Justice and Children’s Health. In 2004, she was honored with the World Technology Award in Ethics, only the third American so recognized. She has served as an advisor to numerous governments and international organizations, including the United Nations and the World Health Organization. Catholic Digest named Shrader-Frechette one of “12 Heroes for the U.S. and the World” for her pro bono environmental justice work on behalf of minorities and the poor.
