CNY Council for Social Studies Honors Le Moyne Professor
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College Professor of History John Langdon is being honored with the 2011 Distinguished Service Award by the Central New York Council for the Social Studies (CNYCSS). He will receive the award at the organization’s annual Spring Dinner Meeting to be held on May 23 at the Rosamond Gifford Zoo. Langdon is being honored for his long service as CNYCSS board member and commitment to social studies education.
Langdon has taught history at Le Moyne College for 38 years. He is the author of “July 1914: The Long Debate, 1918-1990” and co-author of “A Hard and Bitter Peace: A Global History of the Cold War,” “Cultured Force: Builders and Defenders of France’s Colonial Empire” and “Connections: A World History.”
Langdon holds a bachelor’s degree from Le Moyne College and a doctorate from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University.posted on: 5/19/2011
