Mathematics Club

The Mathematics Club is open to all students with an interest in mathematics. The club hosts speakers, organizes training sessions for national problem solving competitions (such as the William Lowell Putnam Competition) and views films that deal with interesting topics not covered in class. The club also holds frequent game nights and participates in various charitable events on campus.

Pi Mu Epsilon

Founded at Syracuse University in 1914, Pi Mu Epsilon is a national mathematics honorary society with chapters at over 350 institutions across the United States. Dedicated to the promotion of mathematics and recognition of students who successfully pursue mathematical understanding, Pi Mu Epsilon sponsors an annual conference in conjunction with the MAA's annual MathFest (often providing travel funds for student speakers) and a popular peer-reviewed journal devoted to topics in mathematics accessible to undergraduate students (featuring papers from both students and faculty). Le Moyne students who demonstrate sufficient dedication and excellence in their study of mathematics are selected by the department for induction into the Le Moyne chapter of this prestigious society.
