Ms. Springston received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from the State University College at Oneonta, in Oneonta NY, and her certification as a PA from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the Physician Assistant program at Harlem Hospital. She obtained her Masters in General Education at Le Moyne College.

Director of the Department of Physician Assistant Studies (DPAS) at Le Moyne College, Syracuse, NY where she is responsible for curricular review, preparation and coordination of course schedules, student admission, maintenance of accreditation, grants, and faculty development. Prior to this appointment, Ms. Springston was the academic coordinator and the clinical coordinator at Le Moyne College from 2003 until 2009.

She has served as a PA for the Onondaga County (New York State) Department of Health in Syracuse, staffing a clinic that focuses on the prevention and treatment of infectious diseases, including HIV, as well as providing primary care to patients held in the County prison system.

Ms. Springston's clinical experience included tenure at Bellevue Hospital as an urgent care provider for all virology patients who were infected with HIV/AIDS. She also developed infectious disease course curricula for the Physician Assistant Program at the Bronx Lebanon Hospital in New York City between 1995 and 2003.

At present, Ms. Springston also serves as grant director for two U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Grants. The overall purposes of these grants are to address the increasing gap between supply and demand for culturally competent physician assistants to meet the need of our nation’s primary care systems.

In addition, she has been awarded the Global Outreach Humanitarian Award Grant in 2011 – 2012 from the Physician Assistant Foundation. This allowed her to travel to South Sudan to provide workshops for HIV prevention.

She has presented lectures at State and National conference on topics of HIV medicine, cultural competency, and adherence issues.

Dr. Vinciquerra graduated from Le Moyne College in 1972 on a four-year Brady Memorial Scholarship, receiving the H. Paul Nelligan Medal in Pure Science at graduation.

Immediately following, he continued his studies at Upstate Medical University in Syracuse as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Medical Service Corps on an Army Health Professions Scholarship.

Dr. Vinciquerra received his MD from Upstate in 1976 and holding the rank of Captain, went on to do his military residency training in Neuropsychiatry at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia. Completing that in 1980, he obtained Diplomate Status of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in 1982, concurrent with his promotion to Major, US Army Medical Corps.

Major Vinciquerra then served as Combat Psychiatrist for the 24th Infantry Division Rapid Deployment Force, and was later Chief of Psychiatry at Ft. Stewart Army Medical Hospital, Georgia, through 1983.

He returned to Syracuse as a Reservist and was appointed faculty to the Department of Psychiatry & Behavioral Science, Upstate Medical University. In 1990, he was reactivated for Operation Desert Storm and served as Combat Casualty Liaison Officer at Ft. Benning, Georgia through 1991.

During the summers of 1991 and 1992, Major Vinciquerra worked on the AIDS Research Unit of Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. He has received several military recognitions, including the National Defense Ribbon with Bronze Star, for the Persian Gulf War.

As a civilian in 2003, Dr. Vinciquerra was appointed "Distinguished Fellow of the American Psychiatric Association." He served as Director of Acute Inpatient Psychiatry at the Syracuse VA Medical Center where he practiced for 17 years, until his retirement in 2008.

Dr. Vinciquerra joined Le Moyne College DPAS full-time in 2008. He is currently Associate Professor of Psychiatry, Upstate Medical University, and Academic Coordinator of Physician Assistant Studies, Le Moyne College. In 2009 and again in 2010, he received a national recognition award for one of “America’s Top Psychiatrists.”

In 2012, he became Director of Medical Humanities for Physician Assistant Studies as well as continuing in his role as Academic Coordinator for first-year students. Dr Vinciquerra is medical liaison for Le Moyne DPAS to the Community Health Clinics of Central Wyoming, where he and 8 students spend summers working in pioneer, primary care, rural medicine with the underserved.

Dr. Vinciquerra is a member of the American Psychiatric Association and its component HIV Education Program in Arlington, Virginia. He has worked and written medical education material for and with the APA since 1995, including variations of handbooks and practice guideline editions.

In his free time, Dr. Vinciquerra is an ardent horseman and member of the American Quarter Horse Association in Amarillo, Texas. He supports the “America’s Horse Cares” Foundation, which sponsors therapeutic riding for the physically and emotionally challenged. Dr. Vinciquerra enjoys landscape photography while Western trail riding in the Wind River Range and mountains outside his home in Dubois, Wyoming,(population 900).

Philosophy:
