    "Pericles, Prince of Tyre"

The Department of Visual and Performing Arts at Le Moyne College presents “Pericles, Prince of Tyre” by William Shakespeare.

“Pericles, Prince of Tyre” is a seldom-performed play by Shakespeare; rarely seen or studied in the 21st century, but hugely popular during Shakespeare’s time. Following the unpredictable and tempest-tossed journey of the Prince of Tyre and his daughter Marina, Pericles takes the audience along on a terrifying, comedic, tragic, and romantic odyssey of love, loss, and love again. The production will be under the direction of Theatre Program Director Matt Chiorini. Scenery is designed by Associate Professor Karel Blakeley and costumes designed by Visiting Assistant Professor Lindsey Sikes.

The production represents the first-ever “Full VPA” collaboration, showcasing the contributions of all constituent programs of the Department of Visual and Performing Arts. Much of the original music comes from Music Program Professor of Practice Ed Ruchalski, and the production will also feature choreography by Dance program adjunct faculty member Ruth Arena and original art work by Art program adjunct faculty member Katya Karenina.

    Performance dates and times are as follows: Friday, Oct. 23 at 8 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24 at 8 p.m.; Thursday, Oct. 29 at 8 p.m.; Friday, Oct. 30 at 8 p.m.; and Saturday, Oct. 31 at 2 p.m and 8 p.m.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults, $10 for senior citizens ($5 for students and the Le Moyne community.) For additional information and tickets, please call the W. Carroll Coyne Center for the Performing Arts at (315) 445-4200 or click here.
