The Rev. Kevin G. O'Connell, S.J. Distinguished Professorship in the Humanities, funded in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, was first awarded in 1996. This three-year professorship, which is intended to enhance the Humanities at Le Moyne, is available to tenured faculty in the disciplines of English, Foreign Languages and Literatures, History, Philosophy, Religious Studies, and Visual and Performing Arts. The O'Connell Professorship has previously been held by John W. Langdon (History), Frederick E. Glennon (Religious Studies), Elizabeth T. Hayes (English), David T. Lloyd (English), and Mary MacDonald (Religious Studies). The current O'Connell professor is Maura Brady (English).
