Student Safety and Security

Nothing is more important at Le Moyne than the safety of our students and staff.

The Security Office works to ensure that crimes are prevented before they ever occur – providing a nightly shuttle service to and from all College-owned properties; teaching new students crime prevention strategies and engraving identifiable numbers on valuables so that their owners will recognize them. In addition, the Security Office also works with the Division of Student Life and the Center for Personal Growth and Counseling on rape awareness, education and prevention programs, and monitors and records residence hall entrances and student parking lots via closed-circuit television cameras. It also strictly enforces the College’s policies with respect to drugs and alcohol, and weapons, fireworks and chemicals, and maintains several emergency telephones across the campus.

In the event that there is an emergency on campus, Le Moyne’s Heights Alert emergency notification system will send a voice mail with information and instructions to every land-line telephone in the College’s residence halls. Students may also opt-in to have the emergency alerts sent to their personal cell phone via text message and to an e-mail address.
