A Student-Run Emergency Medical Service

 

Le Moyne Emergency Medical Services is a New York State Recognized Basic Life Support (BLS) First Response Agency. Operating since January 2019, Le Moyne EMS is an agency run by student volunteers. Since beginning operations, the EMS has answered over 100 calls - of those calls, only 29% required outside agencies to arrive and transport. The majority of our call volume is handled by our EMTs and attendants, who are state-certified and well equipped to assess and treat patients.

 

 

WHAT WE DO

Le Moyne EMS is dispatched through Campus Security. (315-445-4444) . When we arrive on scene, we assess patients, take vitals, obtain a medical history and perform any necessary interventions or treatments. These include but are not limited to: airway management, bleeding control, AED/CPR, medication administration, labor/delivery, etc. Le Moyne EMS also is very active in training its own members, and provides training to those in the Le Moyne College community as well. Le Moyne EMS hosts various training opportunities and educational lectures on campus for students to help better prepare and equip the campus to deal with emergencies. Training includes but are not limited to: first aid, CPR, Stop the Bleed, etc.
