The Le Moyne Scholars Institute (LSI) offers outstanding high school students the opportunity to get a valuable head start on the college experience by taking coursework at Le Moyne College during their last year of high school. In collaboration with Syracuse Research Corporation (SRC), which provides financial and administrative support, the institute promotes scientific and technical education and career preparation among those individuals typically underrepresented in the sciences, such as women and minorities.
During the 2006-2007 academic year, participating students may earn six credits through the completion of two college-level courses over two semesters. Students take one course each semester, one focused on math/science and the other on the liberal arts. Participating faculty endeavor to make the experience both challenging and meaningful and prepare students for a smooth transition from high school to college.
