Professional Practice

Practicum
Le Moyne students are required to complete 100 hours of fieldwork in urban, rural and suburban settings prior to pre-service teaching as part of New York state teacher certification regulations.

The goal of the practicum is to serve as a bridge between the educational theory and practice taught in courses and the reality of public and private school classrooms.

Numerous and varied practicum opportunities are provided by the classroom teachers such as tutoring individuals and small groups, teaching part or all of a lesson, grading tests and quizzes, etc.
