Daniel is a graduate of Le Moyne’s RN to BS in Nursing program who first began work as a nurse in Ghana, where he was born and raised. Daniel was eager to resume his career after moving to the U.S. When he arrived at Le Moyne he found opportunities to grow not just in the nursing classes he took, but in liberal arts and social science courses outside his major. They broadened his understanding of the world and reinforced his desire to make an impact on it as a nurse specializing in mental health. Daniel is now a nurse at MiraVista Behavioral Health, a psychiatric and substance abuse recovery facility in Holyoke, Mass.
Maeghan, a biology major from Alfred, N.Y., arrived at Le Moyne with plans to become a cardio-thoracic surgeon. Then while watching the TV show House, she heard about Highly Superior Autobiographical Memory (HSAM) for the first time. It piqued her interest – so much so that as a member of the Integral Honors Program Maeghan wrote her thesis on the neurological condition, investigating whether there is a link between HSAM, PTSD and traumatic experiences. She now holds a research position in the field of neurology at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston in association with Harvard Medical School. Maeghan credits her time at Le Moyne with furthering her intellectual growth and development and setting her on this distinct path. Studying the sciences at a predominantly liberal arts institution was, she said, “the best of both worlds.”
Members of the Class of 2022 were recruited by well-known and respected companies around the world. Here are just some of the places where they now work.
Qui’Essence was drawn to law because of its distinct capacity to impact every facet of our lives. As a student at Le Moyne, where she majored in psychology, Qui’Essence took a number of classes centered on issues of social justice. Today she credits those courses with preparing her to think critically about the challenges facing the world today and how those challenges often impact people differently based on their particular circumstances. Qui’Essence is now a law student at the University at Buffalo. In the future she hopes to use her voice, knowledge and resources to aid in making meaningful improvement of lives and communities around her.
