Study Abroad Programs

The University of Essex is one of the leading academic institutions in the United Kingdom for teaching and research, with many departments rated outstanding by international standards. It is set in over 200 acres of beautiful parkland, much of it landscaped in the 18th century. As the University was conceived as a university town, it incorporates teaching buildings, student accommodations, shops, banks, a gallery, a theatre, cafes, and sport facilities all on one site.

The University of Essex boasts 16 departments spanning the Humanities, Social Sciences and Science and Engineering. It has been admitting study abroad students since 1979 and now possesses a true international community, with around 5,700 undergraduates from more than 130 countries.

Founded in 1921, Leicester considers itself to be “a thriving academic community, combined with a vibrant campus and friendly atmosphere… an excellent environment in which to study and relax.” The university has an international reputation for teaching and research and is listed as one of the top 20 UK universities.

The campus overlooks the center of Leicester, as its many buildings have panoramic views. They are known for having first-class teaching, library, computing, and laboratory facilities. The nearby Victoria Park borders the campus and is a great location to partake in sports or simply relax. Located in the heart of England, the university welcomes students from over eighty countries each year. 11% of their full-time students are from outside the United Kingdom.

Founded in 1967, the University of Stirling blends the best of Scotland’s internationally respected educational heritage with the philosophy and structure of the American liberal arts system. Stirling can be considered one of the finest campuses in Europe, with a reputation as the best run university in Scotland. With its 360 acre campus, the University of Stirling possesses one of the most stunning locations in Europe.

Situated in the center of Scotland, the University offers study abroad students a true semester structure providing a breadth of academic study across the Arts, Human Sciences, Management and Natural Sciences. They currently have 8,780 students, 6,387 of whom are undergraduates, with about 300 study abroad students a semester.

Charles University is located in Prague, the capital and largest city in the Czech Republic and the political, economic, and cultural center of the country. While the University is the oldest in Central Europe, founded in 1348, the Faculty of Social Sciences, under which Le Moyne College’s exchange program exists, was created in 1990. Its main goal is to develop teaching and research in various aspects of the social sciences that relate to the economic or cultural life of society.

The only remaining original Gothic building – the Karolinum – contains the University’s administration and Great Hall. The rest of the University occupies historical buildings all over the City of Prague. The Faculty of Social Sciences is divided into various departments. While Charles University is large, the Social Sciences faculty has 2,400 full-time students, 150 of whom come from all over the world annually.

The Pontificia Universidad Catolica Madre y Maestra (PUCMM) was founded in 1962 by the Catholic Church in the Dominican Republic and has become one of the most respected institutions of higher education in the Caribbean. There are several campuses of the University. The Consortium’s program is located in a sprawling wooded campus on the southern edge of the City of Santiago de los Caballeros, a trading and cultural center.

In Santiago, you will witness a vibrant Afro-Hispanic Caribbean culture, the site of the first European communities in the Americas, and a traditional society working to provide a living to its growing population. This study program is designed to offer you many ways to immerse yourself in the Dominican culture, through recommended community service placements, formal study at a major Caribbean university, and homestays with Dominican families.
