Le Moyne College Presents Paris in the Time of Rodin Featuring the McIver String Quartet
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … On Tuesday, April 10, at 7:30 p.m., the McIver String Quartet will present a variety of musical styles emerging from France around the turn of the 20th century. Featuring the works of Charles Koechlin (Quartet No. 1 in D Major), Igor Stravinsky (Three Pieces for String Quartet) and Camille Saint-Saëns (String Quartet No. 1 in E Minor), the program will take audience members on a journey through a multitude of textures as these composers take standard quartet forms and mold them to fit their own vision.
Currently the quartet-in-residence at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, the McIver Quartet will stop in Syracuse on their tour of the northeast. Members of the quartet include violinists Marjorie Bagley and Fabián Lopez, violist Scott Rawls and cellist Alexander Ezerman.
All quartet members are active soloists and chamber musicians, having appeared at venues across the globe, including Mexico, Japan, Western Europe and all points in between. These world-class musicians have also recorded on the Centaur, Innova and Philips labels.
