Le Moyne College Celebrates its 63rd Commencement Ceremonies

SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Le Moyne College will hold its 63rd commencement ceremony the weekend of May 17 to 19, concluding with the undergraduate ceremony taking place at 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 19, at 9:30 a.m. All activities for the weekend will take place on the Le Moyne campus.

The first event will be the graduate student commencement ceremony, taking place at 6 p.m. on Friday, May 17 in the Anthony J. Henninger Athletic Center. Speaking to the graduates will be New York’s Department of Transportation Commissioner Joan McDonald, a 1977 Le Moyne graduate. A total of 293 students are eligible to received graduate degrees at the ceremony.

On Saturday, May 18, several events will be held on campus, including the Senior Honors Convocation in the Panasci Family Chapel, the Baccalaureate Mass in the Henninger Athletic Center, and the Golden Alumni Dinner, which honors the class of 1963.

On Sunday, May 19, the undergraduate ceremony will take place outside at the Thomas J. Niland Jr. Athletic Complex. The commencement speaker will be Syracuse University Chancellor Nancy E. Cantor. Receiving the honorary degree of doctor of humane letters at the ceremony will be Dr. Cantor, Thomas G. Young ’69 and Peter Major, M.H.M., ’60. The student speaker will be Caitlin McGuire, a communications major from Newport News, Va. A total of 603 students are eligible to receive either a B.A . or B.S. at the ceremony.
