Le Moyne College Administrator Appointed to State Advisory Council
SYRACUSE, N.Y. (For Immediate Release) … Roger Purdy, director of disability support services at Le Moyne College, was appointed to the Instructional Material Advisory Council by New York State Governor David Patterson. The committee was created to ensure that students with print disabilities have access to instructional materials in suitable alternate formats for use in colleges in New York state.
Purdy was also elected the first president of the New York State Disability Services Council that includes CUNY, SUNY, privates and proprietary institutions of higher education in the state.
Le Moyne College’s Office of Disability Support Services provides assistance to students with learning, physical or emotional disabilities. Accommodations for students with learning disabilities include note takers, alternative testing sites and time extensions for exams. In addition, these students also have access to all of the services provided in Le Moyne’s Academic Support Center, such as tutoring and study skills sessions.
