The exhibit “The Road to Catharsis,” is a series of 30 black-and-white photographs of roadside crosses and other improvised memorials that have caught Barnett’s attention. Through his work, Barnett seeks to take something very common and to look at it in an uncommon way.

A commercial and fine art photographer for close to 20 years, Barnett has displayed his work in several group shows nationally, including in New York, and in solo shows at New Jersey’s Watchung Arts Center and elsewhere. His photos have been published in Southern Quarterly, and are held in numerous private collections as well as the Chrysler Museum in Norfolk, Va.
