Areas of Specialization

Having grown up in the small rural village of Homer, Katie had no idea what she wanted to do with the rest of her life. She attended Towson University in Maryland in attempts to get a broad experience to help direct her path in life. After declaring herself a biology major at the end of her sophomore year of college, she began taking as many science courses as possible. During her senior year of college, she worked as an emergency medicine scribe at Greater Baltimore Medical Center (GBMC) where she determined a career in medicine was what she wanted to do. Katie currently works per diem for Guthrie Medical Group when needed in the walk-in clinic and per diem through US Acute Care Services as a PA in the Guthrie Cortland Emergency Department.

She attended King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, PA where she graduated with her Masters of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPAS) in 2004. She went on to work back in her hometown at one of the local health centers in Internal Medicine and Family Medicine until she joined the faculty at Le Moyne in 2017.
