Professor Whitney L.M. Wood received her Ph.D. in School Psychology from Syracuse University in 2015. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the May Institute in clinical child psychology. As a school-focused psychologist, Professor Wood is particularly interested in the intersection of mental health and education. Therefore, she teaches courses on topics related to development, child and adolescent psychopathology, and counseling and psychotherapy. Professor Wood’s research focuses on methods to screen for, assess, and accommodate students’ mental health and academic difficulties. She actively mentors undergraduate students in her research lab. Recently, Professor Wood’s research has been published in the Journal of Attention Disorders and Assessment and Evaluation in Higher Education. Professor Wood is also faculty co-mentor for Psi Chi (the Psychology Honor Society) and the Psychology Club.
