Walden Bass has been teaching cello privately since 1974 and at Le Moyne since 2023. He previously taught private lessons through Hobart William Smith Colleges from 2010-2018.

As a professional cellist, Walden has been performing in orchestras since 1969, and in Syracuse since 1974. He is a core member of The Syracuse Orchestra (previously Symphoria, and formerly the Syracuse Symphony Orchestra) and has also performed numerous times in string quartets, chamber ensembles and other formats. He holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in cello performance from the University of Michigan. In his spare time, he enjoys singing in Schola Cantorum of Syracuse (since 2002) and also enjoys riding his bike, solving puzzles of various kinds and making up bad puns.
