Guide to Employer Engagement

Campus Departments Recruiting Student Workers:

All student employment positions are now posted on Handshake. Please read these instructions on how to post your department's open jobs into Handshake:

  • Create a company profile for your department. Each department should use the following naming convention – Le Moyne College: Department Name. For example, if Campus Life & Leadership wanted to set up an account, their company name would be “Le Moyne College: Campus Life & Leadership”
  • We will approve your department as an employer and then you can start posting jobs. Please make sure to select “On Campus Student Employment” as the Job Type so students can find your jobs more easily.

*If you need assistance on setting up Handshake, please reached out the Office of Career Advising & Development by email or x4185.

All employers working with the Office of Career Advising & Development at Le Moyne College are expected to maintain a positive, collaborative working relationship with our staff. This includes abiding by the employer policies and procedures, meeting necessary deadlines for recruiting, complying with the legal obligations of recruiters, and maintaining the confidentiality of student data as outlined by the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

The Office of Career Advising & Development reserves the right to deny campus recruiting services to employers. Reasons may include misrepresentation, complaints by students/alumni, violation of Le Moyne recruiting policies, and positions that are not of interest to our students and/or in moral conflict with our mission as a Jesuit College.

If you have any questions regarding recruiting at Le Moyne College or our employer policies, please contact Meredith Tornabene,  [email protected], (315) 445-4185.

Recruitment events are a wonderful way to reach students who have a wide complement of skills. Throughout the year we host both campus-wide and specialized career fairs and events.

We also work with our employers to tailor class presentations, career chats (tabling), and on-campus interviews to your specific needs. To get started contact our team at [email protected] or (315) 445-4185.

Commitment to Anti-Racism

The Career Advising & Development Office will work with the faculty, administration, staff, students, and alums to become an anti-racist institution. Our collective Jesuit mission calls us to strive for nothing less.
We honor our role in this important work. The Career Advising & Development team is dedicated to educating students, alums, employers, and each other about diversity, equity, and inclusion in our society, and specifically, in the workplace. As we move forward, we commit ourselves to the following:

  • Sponsor and collaborate with student-led programming related to increasing equity and inclusion.
  • Act to diversify our student and professional staff.
  • Create a repository of online resources dedicated to supporting the career goals of students of color, students with disabilities, LGBTQ students, and other marginalized identities.
  • Evaluate and share post-graduate outcomes with response rates broken out by race/ethnicity
  • Attend professional development opportunities each year that focus on equity, inclusion, dismantling systemic racism, etc. Staff will be expected to detail these opportunities in their annual evaluations.
  • Engage employers in conversations about their efforts to both increase diversity through their hiring practices and retain the employees they hire through those efforts.
