Why a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Degree From Le Moyne?

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) graduate degree program at Le Moyne will equip you with specialized skills as an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) to meet the challenge of providing comprehensive, high-quality and cost-effective care to individuals and families in the changing healthcare market.

As a graduate nursing student, you’ll be prepared to provide excellent care and wellness support to diverse, underserved and vulnerable populations as a compassionate and competent clinician.

From the Heights to Community-Based Primary Care

Often leaders in the field of nursing, graduates of Le Moyne’s FNP program get well-rounded training in technical and moral issues.

The Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Program

The FNP program requires a total of 46 credits including 810 clinical hours. Based on your experience, we offer three distinct options for completing the program: (1) Two Year, Full-Time, (2) Three Year, Part-Time and (3) a Post-Master’s Certificate.

FNP Program Format

Our small class sizes allow you to collaborate closely with your peers and receive exceptional guidance from experienced practicing FNP faculty. Also, on-campus attendance is only required once per week (Mondays) to accommodate our students who are committed working professionals.

FNP to DNP Pathway

This curriculum is designed for those who hold a bachelor’s degree in nursing. It’s a direct-entry pathway to a doctoral degree for those who don’t have a master’s degree and require a more robust program of study. This pathway includes 810 hours of clinical practice that is embedded into the program of study.

FNP Courses

As with all graduate nursing degrees at Le Moyne, you’ll be prepared as a life-long learner who is future-oriented, responsive to the challenges of a dynamic healthcare environment and possesses well-developed communication, critical thinking and technical skills.

Our faculty are all practice-experienced and maintain roles as educators, administrators and nurse practitioners, so we are current, competent and credible.

Graduates receive a M.S. in Nursing, FNP certification and will be eligible to sit for national certification.

A PT, post-master’s FNP certificate is also available to eligible candidates.

Family Nurse Practitioner Program at Le Moyne

I was drawn to Le Moyne for my Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree based on my experiences there as a continuing education and undergraduate nursing student. All of the professors I’ve had at Le Moyne really have a passion for what they do, and it shows in the quality of the students they produce. I feel that I will be well prepared for my life as a professional because of the education I have received here.”
