Professor Paul R. Blackley teaches courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Industrial Organization and Public Finance. He received his Ph.D. from the Maxwell School of Citizenship at Syracuse University. His research articles have been in the areas of the economic modeling of federal budget processes, urban and regional economics, and applied macroeconomics. He has also coauthored a series of articles with Professor Ted Shepard on the economic analysis of public policies concerning illegal drugs. In addition, Professor Blackley recently served as mentor for two Honors students in the writing of their Senior Honors theses. These projects involved an assessment of the origins of the recent financial crisis and the policies pursued by the federal government to return the economy to a positive growth path.
