Steps for Undergraduate Admission
Whether you’re a first-year or a transfer student, we’re ready to walk you through how to start your life on the Heights.
Made the decision to become a Dolphin? Secure your spot today! This is required before you can apply for a visa.
To receive your Certificate of Eligibility (Form I-20), we must have your completed application materials, including your Certificate of Finance. While this shows how you intend to fund the first year of your education at Le Moyne, you must have funding available for the entirety of your course of study, including the verification document for each funding source. Remember you need to make your deposit before completing this step.
Once you have the required documents, apply for a student visa at the nearest U.S. embassy or consulate. Be aware of specific requirements and timelines of the visa application process, they vary based on location. Apply well in advance of your intended start date. Be patient and keep track of your application status through the embassy or consulate’s online tracking system, if available. Keep us informed about the progress of your visa application. If you encounter any challenges or delays, let us know.

Office of Global Education
We’ll help you understand federal immigration regulations governing international students and provide support in maintaining your status. We host orientation activities as well as workshops on employment and training opportunities and regulations. We also organize social events and activities around Syracuse and Central New York throughout the year.

Programs eligible for F-1 Visa holders:
- MBA (all tracks)
- MS Information Systems* STEM OPT Eligible
- MS Physician Assistant Studies
- MS Clinical Mental Health Counseling
Programs not eligible for F-1 Visa holders:
- Education (MST/MSED and CAS)
- EdD Executive Leadership
- MS Family Nurse Practitioner
- DNP Doctorate in Nursing Practice
- MS Occupational Therapy (cannot enroll international students until a site visit of the downtown building is completed)

All international transcripts must be submitted to a credential evaluation agency that is a member of NACES (National Association of Credential Evaluation Services). We recommend WES, ECE, or SpanTran. A course-by-course evaluation is required.
Applicants whose native language is not English must submit one of the following:
- TOEFL
- Duolingo English Test
- Completion of a degree in an English-speaking country (may waive requirement)*
* The language proficiency exam requirement can be waived for international students with:
- Graduation from an accredited American high school OR
- Graduation from an American two- or four-year college or university OR
- Completion of 15 graduate credits at an American college or university OR
- Completion of 60 undergraduate credits including six transferable credits of English at an American college or university
- A degree from an international institution in which the documented official language of instruction is English.
