We offer opportunities to unplug from the rush and chaos of daily college life so that students might have the space to better understand the purpose of life. Within this space, we open ourselves to rekindle relationships with God, ourselves, and others.

Some examples of our past retreats:
Explore is a five-day pre-orientation program to introduce Le Moyne, Campus Ministry, Syracuse, and the spirit of our Jesuit, Catholic college to its newest members: our first-year students. The immersion experience is designed to help incoming students connect to Le Moyne and each other through various activities, including personalized orientation, interactive campus activities, Syracuse exploration, service, and small group meetings, culminating at a retreat on Cazenovia Lake.
The Explore Program was imagined in 2013 by Fr. John Bucki SJ, who wanted a place and time where Le Moyne’s incoming first-year class could “come five days early and do... stuff.” Eventually, that vague gesticulation was translated into Explore ‘13 for the Class of 2017.
What started as just 10 individuals has grown into an opportunity for upwards of 50 incoming Le Moyne freshmen of all backgrounds to receive a behind the scenes look at Le Moyne and make connections that will last a lifetime.
Our Explore alumni network is annually growing in size and strength, and the first Explore More reunion retreat was held in 2018. Many alumni say that Explore was one of the best things they did coming into college, since it provided them with confidence going into their first year and so many lifelong relationships.
Beginning in 2019, Campus Ministry’s Explore is parallel to Inclusive Excellence and Global Education’s Discover Program. The two programs participate in several similar events throughout the week, further expanding the connections made within that first week on campus.
The Connections Retreat is an annual retreat just for first-year students.
Formerly known as Handprints, Connections brings first-year students together about a month into their college experience to connect with peers and student leaders. Retreatants have the opportunity to stay overnight in the Jesuit Villa on Cazenovia Lake and reflect on where they've been and where they're going. During this time, first-years will be invited to explore various themes through a series of talks, group discussions, relaxation, and fun! Don't forget the s'magises!
Finding God In... Virtual Retreat
Finding God In... is a four-week, personalized, and virtual retreat for undergrad and graduate students to grow spiritually, connect with others, and find God in all things.
The first FGI Retreat was held in January 2021 in an effort to connect with students amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Students, while at home during the winter break, participated by doing weekly readings and viewing, then meeting with a staff mentor to reflect.
Kairos is a staple in Jesuit and Catholic education.
Meaning "God's Time," Kairos is rooted in Ignatian Spirituality and open to students of all faiths. Le Moyne's first Kairos retreat was held in 2012, and the network of alumni continues to grow. The weekend is a period of self-reflection, group discussion, bonding, faith, talks, and disconnection from the chaos of everyday life. Described by many alumni as "life-changing," this retreat is a must-experience for your time at Le Moyne.
The Senior Retreat is an opportunity for seniors to step back and reflect on their time at Le Moyne as it comes to a close.
As a part of the Senior Week festivities, this retreat brings together seniors to connect and spend a beautiful spring day on the lake.
