Humans of Le Moyne: Khallil Aljoufi

Khallil Aljoufi graduated May 2019 with a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. This blend of academic arenas may seem unusual, but Khallil is proud to acknowledge it and has plans to apply to medical school after he takes the MCATs in June, 2019. Taking a different route to medical school, Khalil feels he had a rich experience.⁣⁣
Sharing reflections on his time here on the Heights and what made an impact, Khallil says, “My professors. I have been instructed, advised, and mentored by some of the brightest and most warm-hearted people. They stood with me through thick and thin and always were there for me when I needed them. Whether to discuss material I was struggling with or to sit and talk about all that was going on, they always were there for me. The professors I've had at Le Moyne are remarkable.” Khalil is remarkable himself, achieving many awards and meeting high standards. As an example, he was awarded the Department of Psychology Medal for his “general excellence in Psychology.” Outside the classroom, you could find Khalil Aljoufi engaged with peers in numerous clubs and campus activities. He sees the value in making connections and being part of a larger whole.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Khalil Aljoufi had four years to explore goals and build the foundations for his future. He, again, feels there was support in pursuing his interests. As he notes, “The services for students at Le Moyne, such as the health professions advisement committee (HPAC), helped me prepare for what is to come. Through guidance and mentoring, they helped me to make informed choices, create a career pathway plan, and explore internship and student involvement options. The HPAC office helped me through all the stages of being a pre-med student. Even till today, they are still there for me as I work on my application.”⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ We wish Khalil Aljoufi continued successes and know he will keep the Heights in his sites.⁣⁣
