Humans of Le Moyne: Michael Songer '20

Washington, D.C., will welcome Michael Songer ’20 this summer as he heads there to intern with the Smithsonian Institution. A history major with a concentration in adolescent and special education and a minor in religious studies, Michael ultimately plans to “continue to grow and learn in the field of education and become an educator, working with youth in growing their passions and interests and expanding their knowledge base.”

“What makes me proud about my time at Le Moyne is the abundance of opportunities for students to become involved with the community, both here at Le Moyne as well as the Greater Syracuse community. Whether it is one of the myriad clubs, sports, groups or activities on campus, or opportunities for service, internships or volunteering at various businesses, nonprofits, charitable organizations or education programs, there are endless opportunities to engage your passions.”

“Take advantage of every opportunity and everything you can get involved in! When someone asks if you would be interested in this event, this group, or this activity, you never know where it can take you days, months or years down the road.”
