Humans of Le Moyne: Hannah Sheboy

Hannah Sheboy has been ready for the next step. This came quickly as she began to fill in for a leave replacement at Cornwall Middle School the day after graduation May, 2019, until the end of the school year. After that, she begins her full-time teaching career with the Fairfax County School District in Fairfax, Virginia. She will be saying good-bye to interminable winters, and greeting the district which is within the area considered the National Capital region. Smithsonian museums, multiple historic sites, and plenty of scenic routes await her. While there, Hannah says she looks forward to, “incorporating aspects of my Jesuit education into my classroom!” Hannah majored in History and had a dual concentration in Adolescent and Special Education.⁣

Before leaving Le Moyne, Hannah had time to reflect on her experience here and the meaningful connections she made as an Resident Advisor, a tutor, and a member of the community interested in service. In all her experiences, she was able to confirm her connection to teaching, working with students, and guiding others in their own pursuits. In her words, “Throughout my time at Le Moyne I have had ample opportunities to work with people with a variety of needs. From serving students in an after school program in the Bronx to serving food at Rescue Mission, I have had many opportunities to be in service to others. This is an experience that will help me in my career.”⁣
