As one of Madden College’s Centers for Excellence, the Savage-McGill Center for Reflective Leadership believes that doing well in business – and life – begins with doing good – we nurture reflection and self-aware, flexible and observant leaders.

Rooted in nearly 500 years of Jesuit tradition, the Center brings together teaching resources and innovation as well as opportunities to grow and emerge as a leader.

The Inspirational Paradigm for Jesuit Business Education

Under the sponsorship of the International Association of Jesuit Universities, a task force convened in 2019 to develop “The Inspirational Paradigm for Jesuit Business Education” – a framework that addresses the challenges of business in today's world and builds opportunities for positive change through education.

The Savage-McGill Center is named for Don Savage.

A retired general manager of the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, Savage had been the 15th pick of the 1951 NBA draft, selected by the Syracuse Nationals, for whom he played in 1951-52 and 1956-57. From 1953 to 1955, he was a member of the Marine Corps. In 1983, he was the first inductee into Le Moyne’s Gold Wave Hall of Fame, and, in 2013, he was posthumously inducted into the Greater Syracuse Sports Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2010.
