Bibhudutta Panda, Ph.D.

Bibhudutta (Bibhu) Panda will be joining Le Moyne College as an Associate Professor of Finance this fall. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Louisiana State University, Baton Rouge, LA in 2010. Before Le Moyne College, he was an Associate Professor of Economics and Management at the University of Minnesota-Morris (UMN-Morris) where he served from 2012-2024. During his tenure there, he served as the discipline coordinator for Economics & Management disciplines, Faculty Associate Director for the TRIO McNair Scholars Program, and Campus Advocate for Undergraduate Research (non-stem fields).

He researches in the areas of economic growth and development, economics of corruption and institutions, international capital flows, and financial development and inclusion. He has published 12 refereed journal articles in reputed outlets including Economic Inquiry, Journal of Productivity Analysis, European Journal of Political Economy, and Economic Modeling.

During his prior appointments, he has taught a wide range of courses including Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Institutions, Money, Banking and Financial Markets, Personal Finance, and Macroeconomic Theory. He enjoys mentoring students in research projects and believes that it is a part of the education process where students and teachers learn the most. He will teach Principles of Finance, Banking, and Corporate Finance at Le Moyne College.
