Dorothy Syrocki Haag joined Le Moyne College in the fall of 2023 as full-time faculty in the Nursing Department after serving in the roles of Assistant Professor of Nursing and Program Director at local colleges of nursing for fifteen years. She started her career in Syracuse, New York as a cardiovascular nurse at St. Joseph’s Hospital. She is a graduate of Crouse Irving Memorial School of Nursing and SUNY Upstate Medical University where she received her bachelor’s and master’s of science degrees in nursing. She is currently a Candidate for the Education Doctorate at Le Moyne College. Her background includes cardiovascular nursing, cardiovascular pharmacological and device research, pre-licensure and baccalaureate degree in nursing program education and administration, hospital-based system nursing leadership and accreditation, and health quality improvement outcomes. Her current research agenda explores the correlation between caring behaviors in medical surgical nursing and clinical reasoning skills.
