Elizabeth Mercer, PA-C, M.P.A.S.

  • Program Director Physician Assistant Studies

Location

SC 113

Elizabeth grew up in a small rural community in Central NY. From a very young age, recognized significant health disparities in her community. She attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY with the intention of becoming a nurse and serving her community. While at Hartwick, she learned about the PA profession. She was able to shadow a PA and to learn more about the PA role on the healthcare team. After careful consideration, she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology, rather than nursing and worked as a ward clerk at a small regional hospital for a year, while she applied to PA school. Most of her career she has worked in Family Medicine, serving underserved populations. She has worked with students most of her career. First as a preceptor and then as a faculty member.

Le Moyne’s mission and vision is what drew her to become involved at Le Moyne. She is passionate about educating students who consider the whole person. Compassion and competence go hand in hand when providing high quality patient care. Beth lives in a small, rural community south of Syracuse with her husband. Together they have raised three children who are living and learning all over the world. She enjoys everything that Central NY has to offer.
