Halie Kemmling-Campbell, MS, PA-C

  • Adjunct Professor Purcell School of Professional Studies

Originally from South Carolina, Halie grew up surrounded by a family full of Teachers, Preachers, and Nurses; caring for others was a big theme in her family. She was an avid athlete in both soccer and basketball (some of her former teammates are now professional players within the WNBA and for the USWNT). Being the athlete she was, she inevitably had multiple injuries that changed her life's trajectory and planted a desire to pursue a career in healthcare. From 2014-2019 Halie worked as a nursing assistant for home health, a long term care facility, and as a lead Acute Care Extender on a medical-surgical floor at a Level 1 trauma center in Columbia, SC. She attended the University of South Carolina where she graduated early and with honors in 2017 with a Bachelor's of Science in Exercise Science with emphasis in Scientific Foundations. After shadowing multiple PAs during her final semester's practicum experience, she made the decision to strive to become a PA.

Halie moved to Syracuse in 2019 after getting accepted to Le Moyne's PA program. She graduated in 2021 and was a part of Pi Alpha (The National Honor Society for Physician Assistants) and the inaugural class of Le Moyne's AHEC Scholars. Even as a student, Halie knew that one day she would love to have the opportunity to teach and enrich future PAs.

Halie works clinically in both Urgent Care and the Emergency Department after starting her career in a home-based Primary Care. She was honored to receive Thompson Health's APP of Distinction and PA of the year in 2023. In her free time she enjoys playing, coaching, and watching both basketball and soccer, spending time with her fiance, family and friends, traveling, playing with her 3 dogs, and studying German.
