Jeffrey Chin, Ph.D.

Dr. Chin (Ph.D., 1983, the University of Michigan) is a Professor of Sociology at Le Moyne College. He is a Carnegie National Scholar, a program of the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning. He is the past-editor of Teaching Sociology, an official journal of the American Sociological Association, and currently serves on the Editorial Board. He is a sociologically-trained social psychologist specializing in the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. He has published four books and over two dozen scholarly articles, essays, chapters, and reviews. He is Secretary-Treasurer of Alpha Kappa Delta, the international honor society for sociology. He is a member of the American Sociological Association’s Department Resources Group, a group of consultants trained to serve as external reviewers. He has performed over 50 program reviews for schools around the country. He is also a certification reviewer for the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences.
