Magdoleen T. Ierlan, Ph.D.

Better known as Margie, Ierlan earned a PhD in marketing with a concentration in Consumer Behavior and a minor in Organizational Behavior from Binghamton University in 2011. In 2002, she received her MBA from Le Moyne College. Research interests include social psychology in marketing (how others influence our buying behavior) and environmental influences on marketing (how we think of the environment when making buying decisions). Prior to academia, she worked in export transportation and third party logistics for JV Carr & Son, Inc. and Mohawk Global Logistics in Syracuse. Eventually, she founded her own private company as an import-export consultant to small and mid-size manufacturers. And in 2002, Margie and her husband purchased a failing insurance agency in New York which they were able to turn into an award winning agency.
